Breaking Down the Holiday Collection: Merry & Bright

Next up for discussion in my new Holiday Collection: Merry & Bright! This look is probably the most traditional approach to holiday decor—a classic bright red with lots of crisp, lush greens. Despite the predictability of this selection, I still wanted to make it feel fresh and use blooms that can be enjoyed at any time of year. Let’s dive in!

These pieces are inspired by the quintessential images of Christmas. Santa’s hat, candy canes, those classic red and green plaid pajamas (you know exactly which ones I’m talking about!). Red and green are festive and fun, but it’s steeped in a traditional holiday appeal that rings true for both country and city folk alike.

Here are some of the images I used as inspiration for these designs. Most of the decor we use around our house for Christmas falls within this theme, but that didn’t stop me from perusing Pinterest and doing a little online shopping for new inspiration. Of course!

I added dimension by picking out the brightest glints of red and green and brought depth with rich burgundy and dark pine. As an homage to all of the different types of trees and foliage I love this time of year, the snow globe for this set is a full-spectrum of greens. And for the floral bundle, I played up the red with a blend of roses, calla lilies, a frilly carnation, a lush peony, berry branches, and bright evergreens. It’s a real crowd-pleaser!

Merry & Bright features a trio of crepe paper decorative trees, a snow globe, a wreath, a floral bundle, and a bonus item—which in this case is an everlasting bunch of mistletoe!
