Erica’s Texas Wedding Florals

This post feels a bit like being able to share a secret I've been keeping bottled up for months—I'm so elated to share all of the details of this project today!

Erica's wedding just took place in November, but she reached out to me last February to see if I'd be able to help her with her flowers. Having just gotten started with this venture I was upfront about the fact I didn't have a ton of experience with weddings, but that didn't phase her! In fact, she had already included an image from my Instagram feed on her inspiration board. Talk about flattery!

Looking back at 2017

While technically I launched this site in September 2016, I consider 2017 my first official year in business. I had made a public outing (which I timidly setup some flowers alongside my other Blunt Objects products at a market last Christmas), but it wasn't until the start of the year that I started to develop my first collection of arrangements—just in time for Valentine's Day!

Being thankful, making wishes, & guiding gifts

I love giving gifts! It's honestly one of my favorite things to do. I love coming up with the perfect idea or tracking down that perfect find, and nothing makes me happier than wrapping presents. (Of course—it's paper!)

For the past seven years, I've had some type of a product to sell this time of year. I'm grateful that I can make that statement—it's honestly all I've ever wanted to be able to do. To make things people want to buy and give each other as gifts.

Holiday… Celebrate!

I'm not sure why I have this particular Madonna song stuck in my head, but it's better than the alternative—actual Christmas music in November. Nevertheless, the day is here, and it is a reason to celebrate—I'm happy to reveal the Winter/Holiday Collection!!

James & Marta’s Paper Anniversary

Happy November, everyone! I'm back from a long weekend in the Caribbean, where I celebrated my 40th birthday relaxing and recharging before the holidays kick into full force. I'm piecing the final details together for that launch, so stay tuned for an ambitious collection of gifts that I could not be more excited about!

In the meantime, I have a few more October Paperversary projects that are safe to reveal now, and I'm so excited to be able to share this one with you!

Sabrina and Justin’s Paperversary!

This week I got an email from Justin letting me know that it was safe to share the project we collaborated on and that his wife, Sabrina, loved her gift! Phew!

I loved working on this one! It was full of things I'd never tried before, a combination I never would have thought to put together, and made up of a palette I just can't get enough of these days.

Let's dig in!

Discover Richmond Magazine’s “Cool and Connected” List

In June I was invited to be featured in an upcoming issue of the Richmond Times-Dispatch Discover Richmond Magazine. I honestly hadn't read too much into it more than that before I agreed—of course! How flattering?!

In the weeks that followed I responded to their interview, sent some photos, and that was that. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I realized I was part of a list of 22 people named Richmond's "Cool and Connected," featured in the 2018 Annual Guide to Richmond. Talk about cool!

A collaborative housewarming gift

Kelly—one of my awesome former co-workers from the agency I mentioned last week—messaged me asking if I'd be able to help her with a housewarming gift for her Mom. She recently moved to Richmond and has been busy decorating her gorgeous new home. Kelly sent me a photo and told me a little bit about her Mom's style which is entirely cozy with warm neutrals like linen, rich browns, black, and a touch of turquoise.

Rethinking studies

When I launched these studies in July, I made it my goal to post and list a new piece for sale every Friday. Well, today I'm breaking that streak! It's not that I didn't finish a study this week—I did! The difference is today I'm not going to sell it.
